ABOUT
PHILOSOPHY
OF PRACTICE
I am dedicated to working with people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities, and am well-versed particularly in work with creatives, ex-pats, transcultural couples, adult children of immigrants, and members of the LGBTQIA community.
I take as a basic premise that you are more than a collection of symptoms or a problem to be fixed and believe that whatever your struggles may be, they deserve our full attention and thorough exploration with the goal of long-term sustainable growth and change. Self-knowledge is good medicine. Therapy takes courage but can help you attain a sustainable sense of well-being and a freer and more satisfying life.
CREDENTIALS AND
EXPERIENCE
I earned my Master of Social Work from New York University and hold a professional license with the State of New York as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.. Additionally, I spent six years in full-time training at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research to become credentialed as a Fellow of the International Psychoanalytical Association.
My areas of interest and expertise are wide-ranging; my style is both attentive and engaged; I bring to my work not only substantive training and 20 years of practice but also patience, empathy, curiosity, humor, and reliability.
